Cornerstone constructors Kier have been awarded the Green Apple.
The Green Apple Environment Awards were established in 1994. It is an annual campaign to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.
The Green Apple Award reflects Kier’s environmental focus on site including recycling site water used for the concrete wash out, recycling our construction waste, returning pallets, recycling timber, composting our canteen waste and the reuse of site aggregates thus reducing our carbon footprint.
Grant and Andy from Kier received their Green Apple Award (Gold) at the Houses of Parliament on behalf of the Cornerstone Kier team.
The Green Apple Awards scheme was one of the first to be accredited by the RSA as an official feeder scheme into the European Business Awards for the Environment. It is still one of only a handful of accredited campaigns.
