On a very wet day in November the concrete frame of Cornerstone was completed. And to celebrate the achievement all the stakeholders involved in the scheme were invited to attend a topping out event.
In building construction, topping out is a builders’ rite traditionally held when the last beam (or its equivalent) is placed at the top of a structure during its construction.
The stakeholders were all represented: Elekta, Bridgecore, LaSalle investment, Kier; and, members of the council involved with the planning, the design teams joined the contractors to celebrate the results of the hard work so far.
For Kier, Andy Plail said: “It was surprising for us to see the amount of people that are involved in such a project and appreciate the hard work that everyone had put in to the scheme.”
